Hello for the first time. I'm so happy that I joined to Retro Family and I will be with you for the next six months. Today I prepared a canvas covered with jute. I had the idea to create a work which would look very old, with elements of metal corroded by rust. Media Fluid Acrylics - Quinacridone Gold from DecoArt is a rust colored paint, I admit that I am delighted about the effects that you can achieve with it. "Rust" is a prefect color and it's good for making metal parts matte. I used also Antiquing Cream - Patina which creates the effect of "patina", so characteristic for rusty metal parts. All media was layered, and from time to time I gently wiped the previous layer. I started from the Distress Stain sprays and then applied media from DecoArt. In this way, I covered all elements of cardboard (secured them first with a layer of gesso). So that cardboard and metal parts do not differ significantly from each other. You need to put a little effort to achieve this effect, but it is worth it.
