Lavender home decor

Trwa właśnie sezon na lawendę,  którą bardzo lubię i mam w moim ogrodzie. Dlatego co roku tworzę z niej różne dekoracje. Tym razem postanowiłam wykorzystać tekturową tubę do zrobienia dekoracji na drzwi.

Hi 

The lavender season is now underway, which I really like and have in my garden. That's why I create different decorations with it every year. This time I decided to use a cardboard tube to make a door decoration.

Postanowiłam wykorzystać papier z motywem lawendy, urocze portrety na papierze ryżowym, kartki starej książki , stemple z najnowszej, lawendowej kolekcji Stamperii i małe bazy hdf od Artistiko .

I decided to use paper with a lavender motif, lovely portraits on rice paper, pages from an old book and stamps from Stamperia's latest lavender collection and small hdf bases from Artistiko

Zaczęłam od pomalowania białym gesso hdf i mojej tuby. To pozwoli nam bez obaw działać dalej. 

I started by painting the hdf and my tube with white gesso. This will allow us to proceed without fear. 

Tubę okleilam papierem klasycznym który dociełam do rozmiaru tuby. Pamietajcie, że ten rodzaj papieru przed naklejaniem trzeba zwilżyć a nadmiar wody usunąć ręcznikiem papierowym. Do przyklejenia używam kleju do decoupage. 

I covered the tube with vellum paper which I lapped to the size of the tube. Please note that this type of paper needs to be moistened before gluing and excess water removed with a paper towel. I used decoupage glue to stick it on. 

Nakleilam też uroczy portrecik z papieru ryżowego oraz okleiłam urocze bobinki kratkami starej książki. Tu użyłam do klejenia collage medium. 

I also glued a lovely portrait from rice paper and glued lovely bobbin bars from an old book. Here I used collage medium for gluing

Aby nasza praca cieszyła nas długo konieczne jest lakierowanie. Zanim będę działać dalej nakładam co najmniej trzy warstwy . 

In order for us to enjoy our work for a long time, varnishing is necessary. Before I go any further I apply at least three coats .

 

Kiedy lakier wysechł domalowałam tło do portretu a bobinki i tył ramki ozdobiłam stemplami z motywem lawendy.  

When the varnish had dried, I painted the background for the portrait and decorated the bobbin and the back of the frame with stamps with a lavender motif .

Brzegi wszystkich elementów przyciemniłam tuszem Vintage photo , potuszowalam też motywy na papierze z lawendą co sprawiło, że wygląda on bardzo vintage. Gdy tusz wysechł naniosłam kolejne warstwy lakieru. 

I darkened the edges of all the elements with Vintage photo ink and inked the motifs on lavender paper, which made it look very vintage. Once the ink was dry, I applied another layer of varnish. 

W czasie kiedy kolejne warstwy lakieru schły zrobiłam bukieciki z lawendy. Lepiej użyć w pracy juz ususzonych a schną w tym upale bardzo szybko. Lawendę suszymy w zacienionym, przewiewnym miejscu aby nie straciła koloru i zapachu.

While the layers of varnish were drying, I made lavender bouquets. It's better to use already dried ones at work, and they dry very quickly in this heat. Dry the lavender in a shady, well-ventilated place so that it doesn't lose its colour and fragrance.

Teraz pozostaje nam zamocować bukieciki z lawendy klejem na gorąco i zawiesić nasze ozdobne dodatki 

Now it remains to attach the lavender bouquets with hot glue and hang our decorative accessories 

Postanowiłam na koniec dodać jeszcze bawełnianą koronkę, na brzegach pracy , która przyciemniłam tuszem 

Finally, I decided to add some cotton lace to the edges of the work, which I darkened with ink.

A tak prezentuje się moja dekoracja w całości. Mam nadzieję że zainspiruję Was do tworzenia takich sezonowych dekoracji domu.
